“Mommy Makeover” is a catch-all phrase that refers to a combination of body contouring procedures performed together to improve the physical changes that are present after pregnancy, breast feeding and weight changes. One reason for its popularity is that the mommy makeover has no set components. Each procedure is custom-tailored by Dr. Patel to fit the individual patient’s unique needs.

With the breast and tummy areas being the primary areas of change with motherhood, a mommy makeover will of then center around a breast and abdominal contouring procedure. During pregnancy and breast feeding, the breasts enlarge and then afterwards returning back to “normal” can mean a loss in contour and volume with considerable sagging. The abdominal area to include the skin. Soft tissues, and muscles stretch to accommodate the baby. Afterwards, these layers usually do not return back to their pre-pregnancy state and can be a source of frustration for many women.
