If you are not ready for surgery and you want soft tissue/skin tightening, Renuvion is the procedure for you- quick recovery with minimal downtime.
There are numerous skin tightening and contouring devices on the market and it can get very confusing. If you are looking for a minimally invasive option to help improve skin tone on the neck or body, Renuvion may be the answer.
Women and men looking for a surgical procedure that helps contract their skin without undergoing a traditional facelift procedure or body lift may find Renuvion to be an effective alternative.
Renuvion in Tacoma and Renuvion in Puyallup is the only device that is FDA-Cleared for use after liposuction, and the only device that is FDA-Cleared for contracting subcutaneous tissue.
Renuvion can be done on both the face and the body. Common location choices for a Renuvion tightening procedure are:
Women and men who experience signs of mild skin sagging on the face or body, and want to achieve a look that tightens the skin make up most Renuvion patients.
Individuals who prefer not to undergo a traditional facelift or bodylift procedure may opt for Renuvion instead, achieving great results with minimally-invasive surgery with a shorter recovery time.
It is important to have realistic expectations with all minimally invasive options. In most cases, they are not as effective as surgical procedures. During your consultation, Dr. Patel will discuss your goals and expectations and let you know if Renuvion is right for you.
The procedure can be done under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. It depends on the number of areas to be treated. Dr. Patel initially performs power assisted liposuction in the area of treatment with tumescence (saline fluid with numbing medication). After he has completed the liposuction, a wand is inserted under the skin and delivers a unique combination of radiofrequency energy and helium plasma to the collagen-rich tissue that’s a primary cause of loose skin. This energy contracts these collagen fibers and pulls the skin down, closer to the muscle, for a more contoured appearance. After the renuvion treatment has been completed, Dr. Patel reinserts the liposuction cannula under the skin and removes any residual gas from the Renuvion treatment. Compression garments are then placed over the area of treatment.
After your procedure, you can expect to feel mild discomfort and swelling up to a few weeks after your treatment. It will be recommended that you wear a compression garment for several weeks after surgery taking breaks when you need it. You can return to work in 2-3 days and resume all activities within the week.
